About Lee Hammond

 

 

 

Lee Hammond is a Kansas City based illustrator, and author. She has been a professional artist, and art instructor for more than 20 years, and a published author for more than a decade with North Light Books out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Lee currently has written more than 15 books on drawing techniques, and has also been a contributing writer for Artist's Magazine. She now has a private studio in Overland Park, Kansas where she teaches a wide range of artistic techniques. Lee conducts drawing and painting seminars nationwide, as well as offering school lectures and mentoring.

Lee is a certified Police Composite Artist, drawing criminal likeness from witness and victim descriptions. She also creates forensic likenesses of deceased individuals, to aid in identification. She is on call for the Kansas City Metro area Police Departments, and works for the TV show America’s Most Wanted.

Her most recent career opportunity has been with NASCAR. She holds licenses with many of the racing teams, and creates portraits of the drivers which are turned into fine art prints. They are being sold nationwide on NASCAR.COM, LeeHammond.com and in various racing magazines.

Although Lee enjoys all artistic mediums and subject matter, realistic portraiture will always be her main theme. She has been commissioned to draw and paint portraits for many books, magazine covers, and large corporations. She also creates beautiful wall murals and paintings.
