Learn to draw in Naples, Florida October 13th-17th, 2008
In the classes, I allow everyone to work independently, on their own
chosen subject matter and medium.
For materials, I recommend bringing any of my books you may already
have, plus any supplies or drawing materials you are currently using.
Bring whatever projects you may already be working on, and projects you
may want to begin. Bring as many photo references as possible. There
will be art supplies available for purchase in the classes. I take
checks or cash only.
Usually, I spend the first day discussing general drawing in pencil, for
those elements are crucial to the other techniques as well. I will
demonstrate graphite drawing using my blended pencil technique.
Then, the following day, I do demonstrations on colored pencil.
Graphite and colored pencil are the most popular mediums and will be the
main focus during the week.
Most of my time is spent going around to each student, working with them
one on one. You will get a lot of attention, and can focus on what
interests you the most. It is very relaxed, and you will learn more
than you can even imagine!
Contact Bill Hicks for location, directions, and advice on hotels and
lodging. If you are flying, you will fly into the Fort Meyers Airport.

may need, or want to try. I take checks, so you don't have to carry a lot
of cash with you. (I do not take credit cards...)

As for lunch, we usually go to a local restaurant as a group. You will be
on your own for the evening meal. On the last day of class, I will take
whoever wants to go to the Nelson Art Gallery for dinner and looking at the
Old Master’s work. It is a fabulous museum! Dinner there will run about $15
if you want to go… (However, dining is optional)
As for hotels, I would recommend using Hotels.Com... Enter in 66223 as
my zip code for locations. I will give you all directions to the studio
later, as we get closer…
See you soon!
